Dell ML6000  library
.

This modular library is a major leap from the PV 136T.  You will be required to upgrade your operating system and your choice of tape backup software.
Every feature is now protected by a unique license key which must be purchased prior to using the feature desired ( i.e. more tape slots or add on the 6020 or 6030 modules).
You may install the 6020 or 6030 expansion ( 17U) module but will be unable to use the tape slots until you purchase the license key from Dell.
The drives in each 17U module will be usable ( max of six in each 17U module) but the tape slots will not be usable until a license key is purchased.  Drives may be mixed in the chassis, however drive types (LTO3 or LTO4) must be setup as separate partitions.

• Modular automated drive library with LTO3 ( scsi or fibre) or LTO4 ( SAS or native fibre) drives.
    Capacity of 1 - 14 drives.
• Holds a maximum of 402 tapes.
    Requires two add on modules (6020 or 6030) plus activation of all tape slots via a unique software key obtainable from Dell for a fee!!.
