This is a new style terminator with  a single LED with three modes.

OFF- Termination power is not available.  This light must be illuminated.  Termination power is not the same as a properly terminated bus.  At least one device (controller or device) must supply power to the scsi bus for proper operation.
RED  - Single ended operation is in effect. (40 Megabytes/second)
GREEN  - Low Voltage Differential (LVD) operation is in effect. (requires LVD drives and controller).  (80-160 Megabytes/second)

Mixing of any Ultra Wide drive with any LVD drive will result in the controller operating at 40 Megabyte per second speed (Ultra Wide).  The S/E light will then be illuminated.  If you are unsure of what type of drives are on the scsi  bus this terminator will correctly indicate the type of drive.

LVD operation - Green light must be illuminated.
Ultra Wide operation - Red light is illuminated.
